Let’s Go Fellowship, a church adult group, sponsored the project in a meeting at the church. Twenty-four volunteers made turkey and cheese and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that were delivered to a community fridge outside Fresh Start City Church, 10 S. Lancaster Avenue in Aurora.

The project was the church’s second sandwich assembly this month. November 6, attendees at a biweekly Wednesday Night Gathering program made and delivered 195 sandwiches for the community fridge. The sandwich ministry was Wesley’s third this year. In a June summer camp, families formed an assembly line to make more than 100 sandwiches.

Wesley congregants donated all the materials to make the sandwiches. After sandwiches were made, volunteers labeled each bag.

The fridge offers access to food 24 hours a day, seven days a week for those in need. A second fridge is at Judah Robinson Foundation, 223 Spring Street in Aurora. The fridges are open to all in need with no means tests, forms to complete or income requirements.

Wednesday Night Gatherings are held on the first and third Wednesdays of the school year. Bonus Gatherings are held on fifth Wednesdays.

Wesley, at 14 N. May Street in Aurora, holds Sunday worship services at 9:30 a.m. online (https://wesleyumcaurora.online.church/) and at 10:30 a.m. in person.
