Project Safe Aurora invites residents of all ages to Lighting the Way to a Safer Aurora, a free community event celebrating resilience, healing, and community connection Saturday, Aug. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Bardwell Residences, 301 Weston Ave., Aurora.
Guests can enjoy free tacos, live music, family-friendly activities, and opportunities to connect with local leaders, community advocates, and organizations working to prevent violence and build a safer, healthier Aurora. Throughout the event, attendees will hear inspiring stories of hope and resilience while learning about resources and services available to support individuals and families.
Throughout the day, giveaways including Chromebooks, graphing calculators, gun safes, gas cards, and more will be available while supplies last.
“Lighting the Way to a Safer Aurora is a chance for neighbors to come together, enjoy a day of music, food, and community, and connect with the people and organizations working to make Aurora stronger and safer,” said Michael Isaacson, executive director of the Kane County Health Department, a Project Safe Aurora organizational member.
The event is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to attend.
