Montgomery village government to remove all known lead service lines

Julie Morrison, Montgomery Village engineer from Engineering Enterprises, Inc. shares information before a public hearing on a low-interest loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency at the Montgomery Village Board meeting Monday. The purpose of the public hearing is to allow the public to comment on the Village’s plan to remove lead services in the Marberry Manor subdivision and the downtown area. The Village is seeking funding assistance to complete the project. There were no speakers at the hearing. She said following the hearing, there is a 10-day comment period where the public can submit written comments to the Village clerk or IEPA. A copy of the plan will be at the Village Hall until December 7. The project will allow the village to remove all known lead service lines. The loan is 50% forgivable up to $1 Million.
