Poem: A Law Is A Law Is A Law

There’s only one point I can draw…
A law is a law is a law.
No if, and, or but seeking change;
Or slanted assessment arrange.

No special exceptions get off;
No level of power to scoff.
A law is a law with no out;
And must be resolved without doubt.

The test comes when juries decide;
Until then, the law must abide.
Each side gets its moment in court;
The law then should not be caught short.

So public opinion be damned
If it seems to say ‘let it stand.’
Unless it itself has a flaw,
The law is the law is the law!
