If you have Royalty now reigning in your place,
Let’s hope your common heritage finds favor with the Sire.
Let’s also hope the “passing muster” stage you had to face
Resulted in a favoritism both of you desire.
A caution though…a reigning monarch may well play a game;
Where you will be advised of what’s expected of you then;
With any deviation you’ll be forced to take the blame.
And you’ll be forced to recognize ‘do not do that again!’
If you’re alert, you’ll also find, in either him or her,
That in that purring sound you like to hear deception brews;
Don’t be deceived whenever you may hear that welcome purr;
For this must be acknowledged—freedom doesn’t ring, it mews!
