Winter break is right around the corner and so is the Winter Reading Challenge! This fun challenge will start December 16 and will run through January 18, 2020 at the Aurora Public Library (APL).

It’s for everyone, from children to adults. Each Library location will provide BINGO cards for any child, teen, or adult who wants to participate. A Library card is not required to participate in the Winter Reading Challenge and participants do not need to be residents of Aurora.

How do you get started? It’s easy! Stop by any Aurora Public Library location, downtown Santori, West Branch, or, Eola Road Branch, including the bookmobile, and pick up a BINGO card. Start completing activities on the card. Don’t worry, we make sure participating in the Winter Reading Challenge is fun!

We have a variety of activities, from reading for 15 minutes, to visiting the bookmobile, and even participating in a Library program. When you get a BINGO (complete five activities in a row up, down, or diagonally or four corners) bring back the completed card to any of our locations and win a prize! Don’t you worry, the Winter Reading Challenge has four Bingo cards! Once you have completed one card, visit any location to pick up your second, third, and fourth BINGO cards.

Do you have plans to travel during Winter break? Take APL with you! Pick up your logs and complete your activities while you are out of town. Just make sure to bring back your completed activities before January 18, 2020 so you can win a small prize. The great thing about the Winter Reading Challenge is you can take it anywhere and complete your activities from any location by reading for 15 minutes, listening to music, or putting together a puzzle. It truly is for everyone!

Dana Russell, senior manager of Children’s Services said, “It’s a great program if you want to stop by and visit us during your Winter break or take us with you. I look forward to having you join us for some Winter fun!”
