Aurora Advent Christian Church, 905 N. Edgelawn Drive, will celebrate 163 years of ministry Saturday, May 6.
“Celebrating the past, building the future” is the theme.
The celebration will be from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the public is invited. Admission and parking are free. Light refreshments will be served.
After 163 years of ministry, Advent joined Redeemer Community Church Easter Sunday.
Redeemer holds a 10 a.m. service Sundays at Advent. Former Advent congregants have been invited to join Redeemer.
Senior Pastor Matt Mull said in an E-mail, “Join us for a stroll down memory lane. Sorting through the archives to pull out items to display has been a labor of love.
“There is so much to look at and enjoy. We have discovered great reminders of so many dear friends and family members, special events, and the joys found in worshiping and serving together.
“We could also use a little help identifying some faces that we haven’t been able to name,” the Rev. Mull said.
