Aurora University’s Schingoethe Center will host a family day Saturday, April 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, inside the Hill Welcome Center, 1315 Prairie St. in Aurora. Admission and parking are free.
Planned are printmaking demonstrations, flower diamond painting, kite making, pinwheel painting, bracelet making, a scavenger hunt and a raffle. Guided tours of “Mapping Territories,” the center’s featured exhibition, will be offered in both English and Spanish.
“Territories” artists Alex Velazquez-Brightbill, Hector Duarte, Roberto Ferreyra, Carlos Barberena, René Arceo, and Dolores Mercado will greet visitors and offer prints for sale.
Live music will be performed by Mariachi Las Luces, Aurora University’s student band and EnsAmble Ad-Hoc.
