Aurora Noon Lions Club will hold its annual Candy Day fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9.

Noon Lions President Arvid Meyer of Aurora said volunteers will collect donations at Walgreen stores at 22 N. Constitution Avenue and 1207 N. Randall Road, both in Aurora.

According to Meyer, volunteers will set up tables at the stores to display donation buckets and candy while remaining socially distanced from donors.

Volunteers will wear face masks and wash hands with soap and water or apply hand sanitizer at least every 30 minutes.

Donors will receive mini Tootsie Pops. A home woodworker, Meyer made a candy presentation board as a showcase for candies.

Meyer said, “We are excited for this important event! Candy Day is a significant source of fundraising for the Lions of Illinois Foundation. Revenue from this event is critical to sustaining LIF’s services for visually and hearing impaired individuals throughout the year. We appreciate your participation and support!”
