Aurora Noon Lions: Lions’ Key award, diabetes education

Donna Carter, RN, explains diabetes basics to Aurora Noon Lions Club members Thursday, Aug. 4, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Aurora. Carter is a quality coordinator at Rush-Copley Medical Center’s outpatient diabetes center in Aurora. Carter reviewed center resources and services, diabetes statistics, and explained the content of the disease. Additionally, she noted signs and symptoms, medications for treatment, and compared Type 1 and Type 2 varieties. Al Benson/The Voice
