Aurora officials help senior veteran John Krebs with chair

The Aurora Police Department recognizes Officer. J. Sullivan for his efforts in helping a Aurora Marine veteran in need.

Sullivan is assigned the Bureau of Neighborhood Policing in the Aurora downtown district. He connected with John Krebs, a former Marine tank operator during the Vietnam War.

Krebs, 80 years of age, has been in need of an electric wheel chair for a long time and has had difficulty trying to get one for the last few months. He had expressed his concerns to Officer. Sullivan who did not hesitate to help.

Sullivan connected with State representative Stephanie Kifowit who helped find an electric scooter in less than 24 hours. Officers. Sullivan and Archer drove to Marseilles, Ill. where they met with the Henry family who had a spare electric scooter and graciously donated to Krebs.

Officers. Sullivan and. Archer loaded the electronic scooter on a truck and delivered it to John Krebs earlier last week. Through a collaborative effort, public servants such as Officers. Sullivan and. Archer and representative Kifowit worked together with the community to give back to a veteran.
