Banana Split in Aurora celebrates 35 years of serving ice cream to the Aurora community, Thursday, June 21. Owners Randy and Lisa Brown received honors for their accomplishment in front of their store. Randy Brown expressed his appreciation of the community support and the 237 who were employed over the years, including Alex Voigt, assistant chief of staff for the city government of Aurora. Mayor Richard Irvin, cutting the ribbon, shared a story of admiration as a child for the ice cream man.
