Aurora’s St. Mark’s Lutheran Church will offer its inaugural “Chalk the Walk” Saturday, Aug. 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., attendees are invited to pick up chalk and transform parking spaces at 27 S. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora into a colorful outdoor gallery.
Open to all ages and artistic abilities, the event encourages individuals, families, youth groups, church committees, community members, and friends to create inspiring chalk artwork that reflects faith, kindness, creation, service and other uplifting themes.
Sunday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m., participants will gather for outdoor worship, public viewing of the artwork and a celebration of creativity, community and faith. During worship, attendees will vote on artworks to receive awards.
