Dolan and Murphy fastpitch softball team won the North American Fastpitch Association (NAFA) AA State tournament with a 5-0 record.
Dolan and Murphy’s record was 14-13 for the year. Dolan will play Saturday in the International Softball Congress World Tournament against the Niagara Stompers in Denmark, Wis..
Dolan started out with a 3-2 comeback victory against Stoneyard from Madison, Wis.. Trailing by a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, Mike Drew led off with a single and was driven in by Robert Reder with a triple to tie the score and Hannon Hoani drove Reder in with a single to win the game.
Jose Deleon was the winning pitcher. Reder had three hits and Dave Schuett and Nathan Watson each had two hits.
Dolan defeated Meister Dairy of Madison, Wis., 11-1, in the second game. Michael Jamieson was the winning pitcher. Leading the offense were John Schweighart with three hits, Cayton Wallace with three RBIs, and Dave Schuett and Hannon Hoani each had two RBIs.
Dolan defeated DeKalb Hustle Hogs, 8-0, with Deleon the winning pitcher. Leading the offense were Reder with two hits and three RBIs and Dave Perkins with three runs scored and a triple.
In the semifinal game Sunday, Dolan defeated Stoneyard, 6-1. The winning pitcher was Jamieson and leading the offense were Reder, Baker, and Hoani, each with two hits.
In the final game Dolan won 7-0 over Meister Dairy. Deleon was the winning pitcher and leading the offense were Nathan Watson with three hits and two RBIs, Cooper Carson with two RBIs, and Schuett, Hoani, and Reder, each with two hits.
For the year Deleon is 7-4, Jamieson is 6-6, and Hoani is 1-3. Reder was hitting .476; Baker, .376; John Schweighart, .327; and Hoani, .322. Reder, and Hoani have 16 RBIs and Wallace has 15 RBIs.
