The Summer is quickly coming to an end and the Aurora Public Library (APL) wants to make sure all our educators are prepared for a successful school year. Whether you’re the hero in a classroom at a public school, homeschool, or private school, we have helpful services and resources for you!

Starting on your lesson plans and have music involved? Don’t forget about our digital content, whether it’s a complete playlist available through Freegal, or one song from Hoopla. Check out music, movies, magazines, ebooks, and audiobooks through our Hoopla, Overdrive, and RBdigital apps. How about research papers you want to assign, but want to set up your students for success? Don’t forget to refer them to the online resources we have available. With an APL library card they have access to our databases to help research ancestry, homework help through Brainfuse, or simply practice math, reading, and writing skills through Learning Express Library.

Want to take your students on a field trip? Sign up to bring your class to the Library or request that we visit your classroom for a personalized program to suit your needs! Want this field trip to inspire your students to express creativity? Stop at our Makerspace at the Santori Library for 3D printing, poster printing, vinyl decals, laser cutting, and engraving. For more information about the Makerspace, call 630-264-4203.

Concerned the materials you are checking out will be due before you finish your unit? Consider getting a teacher library card! Every teacher in an Aurora school can get a library card to check out materials for classroom use with an extended due date. The library card can be used at any Aurora Public Library location to check out materials and have access to library databases for classroom use. Are you a homeschool teacher? Get a homeschool library account! Cardholders can check out juvenile materials for curriculum-related use from any of our branches for eight weeks! Don’t worry, if the eight weeks aren’t enough no fines apply on overdue items checked out on a homeschool library account used for curriculum purposes, with the exception of DVDs.

Take advantage of your library card and remember to utilize teacher loans. Teacher loans are requests of up to 50 items to be delivered to a school. You can request for specific items based on your reading level, subject matter, or format, subject to availability. You keep the items for up to eight weeks and return the items or request a pick-up. To get started on your teacher loan you can visit the library to select your own materials, send an E-mail to us at teacherloan@aurorapubliclibrary.org, or call us at 630-264-4123.
