Chef Showdown April 19 in Aurora

Loaves & Fishes Community Services is excited to announce that Chef Showdown will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at its Food Distribution Hub, 580 Exchange Court, Aurora. The popular event will raise funds for essential services to help struggling families in DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties.

This year’s competition will showcase executive chefs from local restaurants, Allegory, and Bev’s. These talented chefs will compete to create unique dishes in a professional stadium kitchen assembled for the competition.

“We are thrilled to be hosting Chef Showdown and are very grateful to our partners, sponsors, and guests,” said CEO & president Mike Havala. “We are looking forward to a unique, fun, and memorable, event that will make an impact on families in need.”

The competing chefs will be assisted by celebrity sous chefs and Loaves & Fishes supporters Kelly Douglas, Itzy Ritzy; Megan Lynch, Duly Health and Care; Tom Miers, Naperville Bank & Trust; and Chuck Nelson, former deputy mayor of Aurora. Dishes will be voted upon by a panel of judges, including Beth DeGeeter, Dean’s Clothing; Annette Kenney, Edward-Elmhurst Health; Mark Rice, chairman of 2020 US Census Naperville and alumnus of the Culinary Institute of America; and Mark Wright, Diverse Facility Solutions. The evening will be emceed by Loaves & Fishes Board member Nicki Anderson from Benedictine University.

Throughout the evening, guests will enjoy delicious cocktails and food provided by event partner, My Chef Catering. Back by popular demand, all guests are invited to experience a signature cocktail in the Ice Bar located in the Loaves & Fishes walk-in cooler. Sponsorships are available and include a VIP Lounge for our Executive Chef level sponsors. There will be a moment to raise the paddle for Loaves & Fishes Community Services.
