The Fox Valley Festival Chorus will present “Castles, Carols and Cathedrals: A British Isles Holiday” at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Rosary High School Auditorium, 901 N. Edgelawn Drive in Aurora.
“Castles, Carols and Cathedrals” will feature holiday songs from the British Isles, traditional Christmas carols, and modern Christmas music. The concert will end with the Hallelujah Chorus, and the audience is welcome to join in.
Under the direction of Mary Beth McCarthy, and accompanied by Bonnie Werthmann, the chorus includes more than 60 members from throughout the Fox Valley. The Fox Valley Festival Chorus is Chicagoland’s original community chorus, and has been providing musical entertainment in the area since 1955.
The chorus has performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and most recently at St. Peter’s Basilica in June 2017 on a 10-day performance tour throughout Italy. The group’s next performance trip will take them to Toronto, Canada, in June 2019.
