Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora will deliver dinner to Mutual Ground domestic violence shelter in Aurora Thursday, May 28.
Reverend John Bell, pastor, said “We will deliver a meal to the residents and staff members of Mutual Ground for their dinner. We will order Taqueria tacos and sides for the dinner.
“The meal we provide will help them save on food costs, give shelter residents some peace of mind, reduce their grocery shopping trips and support local restaurants who are at risk because of the great decrease in their business.”
According to Bell, WUMC congregants are planning to sponsor a second meal delivery to the shelter in June. He added, “The church is having a thank-you sign created to be placed on the agency’s front lawn to pay tribute to the staff members who are working for the safety of the residents even as they are putting their own health safety at risk.”
Donations are being accepted to sponsor the dinners. Call 630-896-1033 for more information.
