Aurora’s Wesley United Methodist Church and Sierra Club of the Fox Valley will become partners to audit vehicles idling in school zones. An announcement said the project is sponsored by the Church’s United Methodist Women to promote idle-free school zones.
The Church’s first idling audit will be conducted February 28 through March 3 during the mornings.
Virtual training will be held on Zoom February 24 for prospective volunteers. Morning training is 10:30 a.m.; evening training is 7:30 p.m.. Training lasts approximately 30 minutes.
Volunteers who complete training will conduct the first audit the week of February 28. In the case of inclement weather, volunteers will conduct the audit from inside their vehicles. For more information, contact Sarah Swanson at slhall812@gmail.com or 309-335-7064.
