Aurora resident Rick Lawrence thanks mayor of Aurora Richard Irvin and city of Aurora employees at the Aurora City Council meeting Tuesday. He said many homes in his neighborhood around Aurora University have been used as rooming houses and run as businesses since 2007. He said the current code allows too many college students to live in homes designed as single family homes and they are a mess. He said this negatively impacts many neighborhoods. The Aurora City Council approved an update to the 2015 International Property Maintenance Code with local amendments and modifications of rental housing standards which includes increased parking restrictions.
