We can care in our communities for community events in areas outside of our communities. It is not completely an unnatural situation. We can take a more broad approach. It could broaden our horizons. Time and circumstances may dictate our actions.
• Chef Showdown for Loaves & Fishes Community Services April 19 in Aurora has meaning. The Naperville-Aurora group spreads its wings.
• Aurora’s GreenFest, after two-year hiatus because of COVID-19 will return May 13.
• Sunrise Rotary: Wine and Chocolate will hold its 20th annual event from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 25 at the Stonebridge Boulevard in Aurora.
• A much sooner community event will be the 75th annual membership meeting of the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley at the Aurora Country Club, 1548 Prairie Street, Aurora, 3 p.m. Wednesday March 15. The membership meeting is less public, however, awareness is important and something to understand. There are reasons for all the activities.
• Wine is integral for many celebrants. First Wine and Chocolate March 25, then Wine on the Fox River in Oswego May 6 and May 7 at Hudson Crossing Park on the east bank of the Fox River in Oswego, near the Fox River bend southwest on the way to Yorkville. Fox River is important from Fox Lake to Ottawa. Knowing the geography of our communities’ areas is important. We do not, nor should not, live in a sequestered corner and independent of our larger areas. Events and community participation are meaningful. We can be interactive with our neighbors.
• Our communities should be accepting of new persons who contribute and accepting of neighbors.
