Dates available: Geneva Viking ship

The Geneva Viking ship has announced its seven-date tour schedule for 2021.

According to the ship’s website, vikingship.us, tours will be at Good Templar Park, 528 East Side Drive in Geneva, Saturday, May 15, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, June 20, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Swedish Days); Saturday, July 17, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 21, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturday, Sept. 18, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m..

Docent-guided tours begin every 15 minutes and self-guided tours are available. For private group tours, call 630-302-7333.

Admission is $7 for adults and free for children 17 and younger. Tickets are required and available online at vikingship.us/tours-of-viking. Only credit cards will be accepted.

Visitors must wear cloth or medical masks inside the ship’s shelter and maintain a six-foot social distance when outside family group.

The Viking is an artifact from the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Visitors can learn about her construction, crew, voyage from Norway to Chicago, local history and significance.

The ship is maintained by Friends of the Viking Ship, a St. Charles-based nonprofit that works for the preservation, public display and permanent home for the ship.
