David Burroughs of Engineering Enterprises, Inc. (EEI) to retire

After 26 years of working at Engineering Enterprises, Inc. (EEI) in the civil engineering and land surveying arena, David Burroughs, P.E., senior vice president, is set to retire January 31. He began his career in civil engineering as a volunteer with the Peace Corps, providing rural development project design and construction in the country of Thailand. In 1993, he joined EEI as a project engineer, became a principal/vice president in 1998, and senior vice president in 2006. During his career he has worked on land development, subdivisions and contract administration, as well as site development of commercial, industrial and residential projects. Additionally, Burroughs’ responsibilities have included providing planning, design and construction services for water works system, transportation and wastewater system projects in northeastern Illinois.

He is currently the president of the Elburn Library District. He is a member of the Sugar Grove Corn Boil Committee and is known affectionately as the “King of Corn” for that annual event.

EEI will hold an open house to celebrate Dave’s retirement Thursday, Jan. 30 at the Pine Room, Bliss Creek Golf Course at One Golfview Lane, Sugar Grove, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m..
