The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley (DCFV) will be participating in three events in the first week of August to elevate an awareness of diabetes. DCFV wants to remind everyone to be aware of the dangers of unchecked diabetes by taking time to be checked yearly, to see if they are diabetic or pre-diabetic.
- Tuesday, Aug. 1, the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley will participate in the Fifth Ward’s National Night Out, at Washington Park, 233 S. Constitution Drive, Aurora, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.. Stop at our tent to pickup literature explaining pre-diabetes, Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes, while enjoying the free music, games, pizza, and beverages.
- Friday, Aug. 4, Club members will be at the Stolp Avenue Block Party, in Downtown Aurora. A large party outdoors where you can visit with and shop artists, while enjoying live music and handfuls of food. Stop at our tent to enter a free door-prize drawing and pick up literature on pre-diabetes and diabetes.
- Saturday, Aug. 5; DCFV members will look forward to their “Kane County Cougars Diabetes Awareness Event” with fireworks, at Northwestern Medicine Field, Kirk Road, Geneva. Gates will open at 5 p.m. and first pitch will be at 6:30 p.m..

The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that meets monthly on the second Thursday of each month at the historic Gray’s Mill Estate, 211 N. River Street, Montgomery. Social/dinner at 5:30 p.m. and meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.; guests are always welcome!
