The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley (DCFV) will hold its February membership meeting on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, Feb. 14, at Oak Street Restaurant, 945 Oak Street, in North Aurora.
Meeting will be held in the East Banquet Room. Dinner is on members’ own from the menu at 5:30 p.m. and meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.. Guests are always welcome!
Guest speakers for this month’s meeting will be Dr. Kenneth Olson and Dr. John Konopelski from Anodyne Pain and Wellness Solutions, located in Aurora, at 2116 W. Galena Boulevard, Suite 112.
Our Club’s February “Meet and Greet”, organized by media chairperson, Ann McBride, to expose our Club and our mission, will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, at the historic Two Brothers Roundhouse Cafe, 205 N. Broadway, in downtown Aurora, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley are working together to provide aid, awareness education and research to find a cure. Fighting diabetes starts with making everyone in the Fox Valley area aware of diabetes and pre-diabetes, and how uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) can cause vision problems, heart problems, nerve damage, dental problems, kidney damage and more! Diet and exercise are two of the most powerful tools we all have to help control our blood glucose. Why not eat healthy, stay active and have a yearly blood test, to stay diabetes-free?

The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley will hold our second annual “Tee Off to Defeat Diabetes” Golf Outing, being held at Bliss Creek Golf Course, in Sugar Grove, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and Adam Broholm, chairperson, and Matt McCain, co-chairperson, are both promising a bigger and more rewarding event than last year, complete with a steak dinner!
