The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley will hold our February Meet and Greet, organized by media chairperson, Ann McBride, to expose our Club and our mission, Saturday, Feb. 17, at the historic Two Brothers Roundhouse Cafe, at 205 N. Broadway, in downtown Aurora, from 9 a.m. to noon. Visitors are encouraged to stop at our table, meet our members, and pick up information on diabetes and pre-diabetes.

Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley are working together to provide aid, awareness, education, and research, to find a cure. Fighting diabetes starts with making everyone in the Fox Valley area aware of diabetes and pre-diabetes, and how uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) can cause vision problems, heart problems, nerve damage, dental problems, kidney damage, and more! Diet and exercise are two of the most powerful tools we all have to help control our blood glucose. Why not eat healthy, stay active, and have a yearly blood test, to stay diabetes-free?

On Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2023, several Diabetes Club of Fox Valley members volunteered at “Feed My Starving Children” to help pack meals at their Aurora facility.

Our Club just received the following message from Aurora office: Diabetes Club of Fox Valley, c/o media chairperson, Ann McBride,

“The meals your group packed November 28, 2023, arrived in Haiti January 26, to help kids who are fed by the Church of Bible Understanding. Precious children are eating a nourishing meal because of your group of volunteers. Just to let you know, meals usually take two weeks and up to six months to reach their destination. It depends on where in the world they go and how hard it is to get there. They cross the ocean by ship or plane and wait in line to clear customs. Then they journey by car, bike, canoe or even donkey, to reach our partners. Many hands carry these meals to children and families in need. Thank you! You’ve made an incredible difference!”
