The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley, due to weather, had to reschedule our Meet and Greet to 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 20, at Jake’s Bagels & Deli, 220 N. Broadway, in downtown Aurora.
This event was our Club’s second Meet and Greet, organized by our media chairperson, Ann McBride, to expose our Club and its mission to fight diabetes. The success of the two Meet and Greets has Club members planning on several more Meet and Greets in the Fox Valley area this year.
The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley, has 53 members working together, to make everyone in the Fox Valley area aware of diabetes and pre-diabetes, and how uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) can cause vision problems, heart problems, nerve damage, dental problems, kidney damage and more! Diet and exercise are two of the most powerful tools we all have to help control our blood glucose. Why not eat healthy and stay active?
Please mark your calendar for Friday, June 21. The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley will hold its second annual “Tee Off to Defeat Diabetes” golf outing at Bliss Creek Golf Course, in Sugar Grove, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. and Adam Broholm, chairperson, and Matt McCain, co-chairperson, are both promising a bigger and more rewarding event than last year, complete with a steak dinner!
The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a true grassroots organization, where all money raised through dues, donations and fundraising is used locally for the Club’s fight against diabetes.
