Diabetes Club of Fox Valley members learn about the Tri City Health Partnership; Diabetes Club promotes awareness at Farmers Market

Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley held their June membership meeting Wednesday, June 10, at Oak Street Restaurant, 945 Oak Street, in North Aurora.

Guest speaker for this month’s meeting was Lisa Foydel, resource development manager, for Tri City Health Partnership, 314 Walnut Street, in St. Charles.

Lisa Foydel spoke about the organizations founding, 25 years ago, by an ER doctor and his friends. They treat uninsured, 18 to 64 year old individuals, who live or work in North Aurora up thru South Elgin. All the doctors, dentists, and other health professionals, donate their time. In 2025, they treated 550 patients in more than 7,000 visits to their clinic, and are up 18% in patient visits this year. One third of their patients are diabetic. They have a pharmacy and accept donations of unopened medications and hygiene items, however, call 630-377-9277, before dropping off medications.

Our Club’s June “Meet and Greet”, organized by media chairperson, Ann McBride, to expose our Club and our mission, was held Saturday, June 13, at the Aurora Farmers Market, in downtown Aurora. DCFV distributed information on diabetes, prediabetes, healthy meal planning, and our “Diabetic Recipes” booklet.

Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley work together, to provide diabetes awareness in the Fox Valley area, while raising funds to provide aid and education for diabetics, along with investing in research to find a cure.
