Poem: Discerning The Why Of Beauty

The Spring we long to see each year is here at last;
And with it comes the wish we make that it could last.
The brilliant blossoming and blooming has begun;
Our Nature’s world is now commencing on its run.
But it is hard to take this in with just a shrug;
Inevitably it gives the senses quite a tug.
Appreciation goes beyond the word’s dictate;
We have no solid point with which we can relate.
Would this be happening like this if we weren’t here?
Appreciating life and beauty fosters cheer.
And that appreciating factor mirrors the fact
That recognizing beauty is a human act.
But that brings on the feeling it is by design;
Both Nature and the way we think are locked in line.
If we should look for reasons, this would get my nod—
Put everything together, it is an act of God!
