Tom Rickert, left, Kane County deputy director of Transportation answers questions about improvements to Orchard Road and Route 30 at the Montgomery Village Board meeting Monday. He said the Phase 1 design approval is complete and Phase 2 engineering and land acquisition is next. The estimated cost of intersection improvements and widening U.S. 30 from Illinois Route 47 to Route 31 is more than $70 Million. He said they hope to pull that together within a two-year time frame.

He said he has had difficulties with the city of Aurora government in rehabbing the former Long John Silver’s restaurant near the intersection of Lake Street and Indian Trail. Village president Matt Brolley said to leave his information with the Montgomery director of development.
• Approved was a request for a Class “G” liquor license for Grandma’s Table in Montgomery. The license will allow serving alcohol as a restaurant, inclusive of a bar.
