Donna M. Crane, 91, of Aurora, died peacefully Saturday, March 23 at her home, surrounded by loving family members.

Her memorial service will be Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m., at Unity of Fox Valley, 230 Webster Street, Batavia, Ill., following a visitation at 1 p.m..

Donna is survived by her loving husband of nearly 51 years, Carter Crane, and was a cherished mother to sons; Michael (Martha) Krueger, Kurt (Fran) Krueger, Mark (Laurie) Krueger, and Jason (Christine) Crane; grandchildren, Kevin (Siri Simons) Krueger, Dustin (Carrie) Krueger, Brian (Emily) Krueger, Jason (Stephanie) Krueger, Ryan Davis, and Rachel Davis; and great-grandchildren, Forest, Kaine, Phoebe, Liesl, and Wilder. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Vernon) Johnson and many nieces and nephews throughout the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ken (Hazel Nowak) Larson, and her brother and his wife, Ken (Donna) Larson.

A life-long Illinois resident, Donna was born February 16, 1933 in Belvidere, Ill. and was graduated from Marengo High School. She cared deeply for others, was a wonderful homemaker, and gave much love and support to her family. She served 20 years as a Hospice volunteer in the Fox Valley area, and worked in social services, including the Lions Foundation, sales, as a desktop editor, for many years wrote a column in The Voice newspaper, and had been active in her church. She most enjoyed family get-togethers, music, singing, and had beautifully oil-painted many pastoral scenes. She liked making friends wherever she went and leaves behind beautiful memories. Her sense of style and compelling smile always will be remembered and cherished, but her beautiful spirit will continue to shape all who were blessed to have known her.
