Chair Deborah Conroy and the DuPage County Board hosted a ceremonial time capsule closing event June 9 as part of the County’s ongoing celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. Conroy invited DuPage mayors, village presidents, and countywide elected officials to place items into a time capsule that will be opened in the year 2051.
Items contained in the time capsule include photos commemorating new projects on the Wheaton County campus, including the ribbon-cutting of the DuPage Crisis Recovery Center, which opened its doors in September. Mayors dropped in pins, publications, and memorabilia that reflect life in DuPage County in 2026. Following the event, the capsule was sealed and will remain closed for 25 years.
