As part of her monthly Third Thursday Events, State representative Stephanie Kifowit, D-Oswego, 84th District, will be host to an Education Roundtable at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Aurora Public Library – Eola Road Branch, 555 S. Eola Road in Aurora.

“It is important that residents have the opportunity to meet the people who are in charge of educating our children,” said Kifowit. “We hold very high expectations for our children’s education system and I believe it is critical to hear from those who are leading our teachers and administrators and to learn what they have planned for our future.”

Kifowit will be joined by a panel of Aurora area school officials, including Dr. Jennifer Norrell, superintendent of East Aurora School District 131, Dr. John Sparlin, superintendent of Oswego Community United School District 308, Michael Raczak, Indian Prairie School District 204 (Aurora, Naperville) Board president, and a representative from the Illinois State Board of Education.

The panel will provide updates about the school districts and give attendees the opportunity to ask questions. The event is free and open to the public.

“This event is a great opportunity to receive an update about how our schools are doing and what they have planned going forward,” said Kifowit. “I encourage any residents who currently have children in the local school districts or are planning to have children in the local school districts to come by my event and meet our superintendents.”

For more information, or to RSVP, please contact Kifowit’s constituent service office at 630-585-1308 or RSVP@ILDistrict84.com.
