Aurora Police Officer Steven Pacenti was named Exchange Club of Aurora Police Officer of the Year Tuesday at Gaslite Manor in Aurora. His award was received in absentia. Officer Pacenti was nominated for his actions in catching a pair of juveniles who fled from him earlier in his shift and four days later, confiscated a gun on a traffic stop which led to two men being charged with felonies. He was honored for his actions in several incidents that took three guns off the streets in approximately one month’s time with charges against five suspects. Two other nominees were Investigator David Brian and Officer Jay Ellis.
