Birth records for school available

Kane County Clerk leader John A. Cunningham will welcome parents who will register their children for school at the Kane County Clerk’s Office, 719 S. Batavia Avenue, Bldg. B, Geneva, and at 5 E. Downer Place, Suite F, Aurora, and request certified copies of their child’s birth records.

Cunningham said, “The next few weeks will be a busy time for school registration and I want to encourage parents planning to register their children for school this Fall to come to the Clerk’s office now to request certified copies of the birth records needed for registration. Getting the records before registration will help parents avoid any potential lines or waiting due to the last minute rush during school registration.”

Individuals requesting records at the Clerk’s office must bring valid photo identification in addition to payment. Information about valid identification is available at kanecountyclerk.org/VitalRecords/Pages/Valid-ID.aspx.

Fees for certified copies of birth records are $16 for the first copy and $6 for each additional copy of the same record.
