Retirement workshop Sept. 11 in Aurora

A retirement workshop will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, at the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce office, 43 W. Galena Boulevard, Aurora. Jerry Knudtson of Konen Insurance Agency, Inc. and Connie Renzi of Elder Law Center, P.C. / Mickey, Wilson, Weiler, Renzi, Lenert, & Julien, P.C., will join forces to present a free, educational retirement workshop.

The workshop is designed to help attendees identify and assess the potential risks and land mines of the retirement years; or in other words, to help attendees create a “Road Map To Retirement.” Check-in for the workshop will begin at 5 p.m., and the workshop will conclude at 7 p.m.. A light meal will be served. Attendance at the workshop is free, however, space is limited. Advance registration is required.

Happy Birthday, Ruth Van Sickle Ford

Aurora’s “first lady of the arts,” Ruth Van Sickle Ford, was born 122 years ago, August 8, 1897. To commemorate her 122nd birthday, the price of her biography has been reduced from $47.90 to only $22 for August.
