In collaboration with the city of Aurora government, VNA will be extending Flu Shot Fridays at Phillips Park through the following dates and times:

• Friday, Oct. 30, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m..

• Friday, Nov. 6, noon to 4 p.m.

• Friday, Nov. 13, noon to 4 p.m..

“VNA is dedicated to improving access to health care for all,” said Linnea Windel, president and CEO, VNA Health Care.

“Protecting each person’s health is especially important during this global pandemic. By offering these convenient, free flu vaccination community events, in addition to our drive through clinics at our health centers, we hope that everyone will get their flu shot to protect themselves, their families and vulnerable members of our community,” said Windel.

“VNA appreciates this partnership with the city (government) of Aurora to make getting a flu shot easy and encourages everyone to get their vaccination as soon as possible.”

VNA began providing flu shots as soon as the vaccine became available in early September in a vigorous effort to ensure that the community is protected during this flu season.

VNA has drive-through, free-flu shot, clinics in Aurora, Elgin, and Romeoville for everyone over the age of four years.

For drive-through clinics, appointments are not needed and individuals will receive a free VNA resource bag while supplies last. Hours and locations can be found at vnahealth.com

VNA is offering flu shots inside their health centers by appointment for anyone over the age of six months. Same day appointments often are available.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones against influenza (flu) is to get a flu vaccine every flu season. Flu is a contagious respiratory disease that can lead to serious illness, hospitalization, or even death. The CDC recommends everyone six months and older get an annual flu vaccine.
