A drive-through food distribution event for veterans and their families will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8. in Phillips Park, near the three Veterans Monuments at the Sunken Gardens on Ray Moses Drive.
Our volunteers will load your trunk with a box of food. Veterans are asked to bring their military identification. The first 120 cars will be served on a first-come first-serve basis.
This event is made possible by our many sponsors and supporters from this year’s annual Fox Valley Marines Golf Classic.
Scientel Solutions, one of our major sponsors, will be a partner with us for this event.
“We are thrilled to be a partner with the Fox Valley Marines and help to take care of those who have taken care of us throughout history,” said Nelson Santos, founder and CEO of Scientel Solutions. “Given the year we have had, it is critical that those who can assist, do.
“At Scientel, we encourage our team to offer their time and talent and support our community wherever we can.”
Kris Kearns, commandant of the Fox Valley Marines Detachment 1233, said it is a great honor for our organization to be able to give back to veterans.
“In this time of need, we appreciate the chance to give back to the men and women who have served their country and done so much for us,” Kearns said.
Event coordinator, James Butler, said it is an honor and a privilege to be part of the Fox Valley Marines Detachment 1233.
“We are able to show our love and respect to our fellow service men and women who have served our country with dignity and honor,” Butler said. “We are grateful and thankful for their service to our country. We are especially thankful to our sponsors. We will never stop supporting our veterans! Happy 245th Birthday United States Marine Corps. Semper Fi!”
