Fox Valley Crisis Line seeks volunteers

Are you willing to answer the call for help? Friends, family and neighbors in your community are experiencing alarming rates of anxiety, loneliness, suicidal ideation, depression, and substance use. The need for crisis line support never has been greater. Volunteers can make differences for themselves and heir community by becoming a Fox Valley Crisis Line volunteer.

A free, 10-week Crisis Line training program will begin Thursday, Sept. 9. Mandatory classes will be held Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Association for Individual Development’s Behavioral Health site, 1230 N. Highland Avenue, in Aurora. This class prepares individuals to volunteer on the Crisis Line and focuses on issues pertinent to crisis calls, such as: crisis intervention, mental illness, suicide, domestic violence and sexual assault, alcohol/drug use and community resources.
