Free movie for kids in Plano

• Knit and Crochet Group, Thursdays, 10 a.m. to noon.

This informal group works on its own project, discusses types and colors of yarns, and helps each other with new or tricky patterns. Participants should bring their own supplies. No registration is required.

• Holiday closings: Monday, Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve and Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, New Year’s Day.

• Writers’ Group, Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m..

Writers can discuss their work in the Library Board Room. No registration required. Open to adults and high school students.

• Movie Matinee, Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m..

This ensemble comedy, mixing adorable canines and humans who need as much rescuing as the animals they adopt, is a shaggy charmer itself. Rated PG. 2018

Kids events:

• Free Movie for Kids, Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., or, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Incredibles 2. Rated PG.

All ages, children under six must be accompanied by an adult. Free refreshments served. No registration is required. Attendance is limited to the first 80 individuals.

• Glass Art Class, Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., or, 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m..

A small glass art project can be made with artist Jeanne Dennis. For independent students in grades sixth through 12th. Call 630-552-2025 to register.

• Interested in Learning German?, Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, 2:15 p.m. to 3 p.m..
