Poem: Freedom Of Choice

When you are told you can’t have this or can’t have that
You’re being told, quite succinctly, you have no voice.
For all your freedoms, every one, will tell you flat
The bottom line is that you have freedom of choice.

Regardless what is being said, no matter what,
Freedom of choice is what our Founding Fathers sought.
The miracle is that they did it, giving you
The right to choose in everything you want to do.

Religion, firearms, movement, spending, you decide;
There are not many things you deftly have to hide.
You also are allowed to think without restraint;
Another freedom you will use without complaint.

This is “consistent with order”, that’s understood;
And that has worked much better than some thought it would.
When you control what, how, and why in daily life
You have effectively removed the daily strife.

So if in daily life you’re not allowed to choose,
It all comes down to this one succinct phrase, “you lose!”
So any way you look at it, without a doubt,
Freedom of choice—that’s what all freedom is about.
