Farm to Fork at McDonald Farm Aug. 10

A four-course gourmet dinner, including wine choices, will offer diners a unique al fresco experience during a Farm to Fork dinner from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10 at The Conservation Foundation’s McDonald Farm in Naperville.

The 60-acre McDonald Farm is at 10S404 Knoch Knolls Road, Naperville.

This exclusive outdoor dining experience will feature a gourmet meal prepared on-site by chef Dan Compton, the chef de cuisine at Paul Virant’s Vie Restaurant in Western Springs. Chef Dan will use fresh, organic, vegetables grown in the surrounding fields under the direction of TCF Green Earth Harvest Farm manager Duncan Simonson.

“Farm to Fork will be such a remarkable evening and our diners can expect some tasty surprises,” Simonson said. “To welcome the renowned chef Dan, coupled with our organic approach to farming, guarantees a very rare opportunity for folks to eat an exquisite dinner creation.”

Dinner will be served under a tent on the Farm grounds in case of inclement weather.

Tickets are $150 per person for TCF members; $175 per person for non-members. Registration is limited to the first 150 guests to register no later than noon Friday, Aug. 2. Tickets can be ordered online at bit.ly/2NF8I92.

Fox Valley Marines golf Aug. 14

The 12th Annual Fox Valley Marines Golf Classic will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Bliss Creek Golf Club, 1 Golfview Road, Sugar Grove.

It will be a fun day with all proceeds to help benefit the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, and the Fox Valley Marines.
