Gratitude, helpful: Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry

Gratitude is the theme of the month and yet so often during the holiday season, the struggles of our neighbors in need can seem amplified. Although the more fortunate individuals assemble wish lists and stores advertise the abundance and charms of a sparkling holiday season, others simply cannot make ends meet. It is the time that our community, our mission, and your generosity shine a light the brightest.

We are wishing everyone the very happiest Thanksgiving and we are truly thankful for the time and support of many individuals. It has made it possible to provide help to our friends and neighbors year-round, but especially this time of year. Many make our mission possible. If you’ve been inspired by our work, or someone you know has made it through a hard time because of a referral to our services, we hope you’ll consider making a gift this season at mariewilkinsonfoodpantry.org/give-money.

We are proud to again collaborate with community partners for the Holiday Meal distribution Saturday, Nov. 20 at Phillips Park in Aurora. The event quickly sold out this year, which emphasizes the need we fill.

It is our second year working together with the City of Aurora, Northern IL Food Bank, Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry and Holy Angels Food Pantry. Together, we are able to help our community neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet provide a Thanksgiving meal for their loved ones.

At The Venue in Aurora Friday, Nov. 19, musician Gerald Dowd and friends will hold a concert for the benefit of the Pilsen Food Pantry in Chicago and the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry in Aurora.
