Halloween events in Aurora

Designated Trick-or-Treat hours in Aurora will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31.

Following State and Federal health guidance, families are encouraged to trick-or-treat outside and to not gather in large groups. Costumes should incorporate medical masks, or cloth, face coverings.

• The Monster Mash Bash will be a free event for teens in sixth though 12th grades, 2:45 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29 at Alive Center, 78 S. LaSalle Street. All teen attendees will be added to a raffle to win an Apple iPad and Apple pencil. It will include pumpkin-painting, caramel apple bar, Spooky Photo Booth, and scavenger-hunt. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

Aurora Downtown will be host to Trick or Treat in Downtown with dozens of participating businesses from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. The event is free and open to all ages. Costumes are required for treats. Maps are at participating businesses, or download one online: auroradowntown.org.

Waubonsee Community College Aurora Downtown Campus, 18 S. River Street, Aurora, will be host to a Trunk or Treat with decorated trunks behind the campus from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30.

Alive Aurora will be host to its inaugural Halloween Costume Pet Parade FUNdraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at the Alive Center pet parade and open house, 78 S. LaSalle Street. There will be free hot dogs and a photo with your pup, and include food vendors, pet treats, tattoos, Hot Wheels, art activities, petting zoo, pumpkin-decorating contest, photo booth, costume contest, and face-painting. There will be prizes for the funniest, scariest, and most like your pet costumes. Cost is $25 per family and includes Wag Bag for you and your pet) Register: e.givesmart.com/events/nrw.

Halloween Phantom of the Opera Masquerade Party will be from 5 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Oct. 30 at French 75 Gallery and Lounge, 56 E. Galena Boulevard.

Cost is $40 per person and will include one cocktail, wine, or sparkling, and hors d’oeuvres. Call 630-340-5675 to reserve a spot.

Trick-or-Treat Drive-Thru will be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31 at Phillips Park, 1000 Ray Moses Drive. Parents can bring children dressed in costumes, and even decorate their vehicles, to receive free special treat bags for every child in the vehicle.

Registration is mandatory for the Trick-or-Treat Drive-Thru at www.aurora-il.org/Halloween. The event is open for Aurora residents only, and an adult in the vehicle must present identification with an Aurora address.

Aurora Noon Lions Club will hold its annual “Great Pumpkin” pancake breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Luigi’s Pizza and Fun Center, 732 Prairie Street in Aurora.

The public is invited to attend in Halloween costumes.The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, mini donuts, orange juice and coffee or milk.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children three to 12 years old. Proceeds will benefit Lions’ programs to aid vision- and hearing-impaired persons. Tickets may be purchased from Noon Lions Club members, at the door or by calling 630-921-1307.
