The fascinating history to be learned behind the transformation of the Joliet Arsenal into the stunning Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie when the Oswegoland Heritage Association, in partnership with the Oswegoland Park District, presents “From War Plants to Prairie Plants: Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie and the Joliet Arsenal” at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 18 in the Museum’s Roger Matile Room. The Museum, 72 Polk Street, is just two blocks east of Oswego’s historic downtown business district. Pre-registration, $5, is encouraged, but walk-ins are always welcome.
