The dome is home. Six years after the iconic onion dome was removed from The Hobbs Building in Aurora, 2 N. River Street for safety reasons, the dome was put home last week as a replica. The original will be preserved for historical purposes. The replica gives the building a return to its glory on the downtown Aurora skyline. After many decades of vacancy, the historic Hobbs Building reopened as a renovated mixed-use development with 31 stunning apartments, 80% leased, and retail space on the first floor.
