Holocaust survivor Nancy Apfelroth of Aurora, left, lights a candle with Dr. David Davis, Aurora; and Judy Jacobson, Aurora, during annual Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Day observance at Temple B’nai Israel in Aurora Wednesday, May 1. Apfelroth, 93, is the sole Holocaust survivor at the Temple. During World War II, she was forced to work in Nazi munitions factories. The annual national remembrance is from sunset May 1 through sunset May 2.
