You live your life as a religious person, scant or much;
Quite comfortable with what it teaches, and its loving touch.
Let’s say you also read your Bible, bolstering belief—
Where almost always, in some measure, you will find relief.
But dictates of your daily life, your everyday routines,
May well dispel religion, and the points of what life means.
Your temper, and your temperament, the way you look at things,
May not reflect religion, or the peace of mind it brings.
So, once again, you live your life religiously, you think
Oblivious to your own ego, into which to sink.
For, after all, your own life has its own resolved dictates;
Complete with its imperatives, of many different weights.
Religion may well then become just routine, used with pride;
For, after all, you are religious, aren’t you, deep inside?
