Poem: In Any War

Share this article:

No war leaves anyone behind;
It always spreads its ties that bind
In ways not seen or felt throughout,
But nonetheless without a doubt.
With those in combat, it’s assumed
That they’re the only ones so doomed,
But know this—those who stand apart
Will be affected from the start.
Adjusting, when the shooting stops,
Will rest in what each side adopts,
Completely free of feeling trapped,
Aware that all must then adapt.
What happens next springs to this day;
Still well engaged in global fray.
May all of us have hope in store,
To meet the tests in any war!
