Poem: In Every Life

In every life, there’s focal points which shape the mold
The character is destined to become when old.
What will emerge, of course, is complex, seen when done;
Beliefs and traits uniquely woven into one.

The childhood will be the most formative in strength,
But influences will divide and add at length.
We tend to blame the childhood when adults go wrong,
The vast majority, however, won’t belong.

An influence may well be anything at all,
Or anyone, at any time, a succinct call,
But totally without deliberate design,
Which later may not be that easy to define.

An influence may influence an influence,
Resulting in vast differences, and make no sense.
You never know, but…that’s the beauty of it, true!
It’s nice to sit back, gauging what influenced you!
